and
still relatively unspoilt region in the centre of Italy, 230
km north-east of
Rome.
Surrounded by olive groves, sunflower
fields and vineyards, you will be able
to discover the many natural and historical hidden gems of
this area in the
southern part of Le Marche called Il Piceno.
"Il Melograno" is also an ideal destination for
an active holiday as it is close to
the sea and to the mountains. This offers innumerable opportunities
for
outdoor activities like swimming, windsurf, trekking or cycling
excursions with
the mountain-bikes we provide.
"Il Melograno" is just outside the delightful hilltop
village of Massignano (254
metres a.s.l. - population 1500), historically part of the
Roman city of Cupra,
that houses several ancient monuments including the Forcella
castle, the Town
Hall building, S. Giacomo church (with a painting of Mary
in adoration of the
child by Vittorio Crivelli - an important 15th century painter),
a Gothic arch
(11th century) and a 15th century gate.
And while you are in Italy, why not learn or improve your
Italian language?
